Telecom | Automatic determination of the tower axis

Automatic determination of the tower axis based on points, for further measurements and analysis of the object's geometry.

Steps for determining the axis

Introduction

NOTE: Automatic determination of the tower axis is available only for sites of the "Telecommunications" type.

The determined tower axis can serve as a reference point for further measurements and analysis of the object's geometry. Once it has been created, the axis-to-point azimuth measurement and verticality measurement functions become available.

The tower axis is determined based on previously measured points. A single point is enough to determine the axis.

Measurements can be taken both on the point cloud and on the 3D model.

WARNING: Only one tower axis can be created within a single project. Once it has been created, the automation tile becomes grayed out, and running the function again is not possible. To create a new axis, first delete the axis already assigned to the project.

TIP: You will find the Tower axis automation in the project view, in the Automations tab. It can be used only in the 3D view.

 Steps for determining the axis

1.  Add points with the Add point measurement tool.

The tower axis will be determined based on them. The measured points will be assigned to the appropriate folder in the Analytics tile.

A window with the settings of the selected automation will appear.

5. Enter a name for the axis.

6.  Select the previously determined points from the multi-select list .

Immediately after you click the Create axis button, the automation produces an axis determined from the indicated points. Additionally, the axis geometry properties panel opens.

The resulting axis can be found in the Analytics panel.
