# How to display 3D Gaussian Splatting models in the portal?

 3D Gaussian Splatting technology provides a more natural appearance for displayed objects. 

**TIP: This feature is currently available in beta version.** If you are interested in implementing this solution in your projects, please contact our team directly at  [app@skysnap.com](mailto:app@skysnap.com). 

 

### How to display a model using 3DGS?

1\. Upload the file to the portal as you would a standard mesh, using the option shown in the image below. 

**IMPORTANT:** Only the `.PLY` file format is supported.

2\. Once the file has been successfully uploaded and processed, a new icon will appear in the right-hand sidebar, allowing you to display the 3DGS file in a dedicated view.

3\. Click this icon to open the 3DGS file view.

4\. Double-clicking on a selected point on the model sets a new center of rotation for the view.
